NKY football legend passes away

FORT MITCHELL, Ky. (WXIX) - A high school football legend has passed away.

Longtime Beechwood High School football coach Mike Yeagle has died, FOX19 NOW Sports Director Joe Danneman reports.

He coached the Tigers from 1991 until his retirement in 2005.

Yeagle led Beechwood to eight state championships, four of them consecutively. He was the first coach in Kentucky high school football history to achieve the feat of four straight championships.

During his time coaching Beechwood, Yeagle’s teams won 87% of their games. His overall record was 183-27.

He is a member of the Northern Kentucky Athletic Directors Association Hall of Fame and the Beechwood Hall of Fame.
