CINCINNATI (WXIX/ENQUIRER) - FC Cincinnati midfielder Luciano Acosta was named as one of four finalists for the 2024 MLS All-Star Captain Fan Vote, according to Major League Soccer.

Acosta, who was voted captain in last season’s All-Star team, is up against Real Salt Lake’s Cristian “Chicho” Arango, Columbus Crew’s Juan “Cucho” Hernandez and Inter Miami CF’s Lionel Messi for the title.

Fans can vote once per day for their favorite players starting Tuesday, July 2, through the MLS website.

The polls will remain open until noon ET on July 9.

In addition to Acosta representing FC Cincinnati for captaincy, two more players were named to the All-Star roster.

Center-back Miles Robinson and wing-back Luca Orellano will also join Acosta this year.

According to our media partners at the Cincinnati Enquirer, the All-Star Team will play a team from Liga MX, which is “the Mexican top-flight of soccer.”

The match will take place at Lower.com Field in Columbus on July 24, but before it, the leagues will play each other in a skills contest the day before, the Enquirer reported Monday.
