Stormy today; sunshine returns for Mother’s Day weekend
Skies will clear tonight and bring a cold Friday morning commute. Enjoy the weekend because more storms move in next week.
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - We’ve almost made it to the end of another work week. Lucky for us, this week has been a little more laid back weather-wise compared to last week. Expect one more round of storms this afternoon and evening before we dry out and cool down into Friday morning.
We will only see the slimmest of chances for a stronger storm or two later this afternoon and that threat will be limited to our southernmost communities. The rest of us will still see slow-downs on the evening drive, just due to bad timing from heavy downpours.
Late tonight, skies will quickly clear and a north wind will drag temps down into the upper 30s in many areas tomorrow morning. If you have any plants sensitive to cold, make sure to bring them in before you go to bed tonight. You’ll be able to sit them outside again when you head to work tomorrow.
Sunshine returns Friday and sticks around Saturday and Mother’s Day too. Temps will top out in the mid 60s Friday and rebound into the low to mid 70s this weekend. Make some outdoor plans and enjoy the free vitamin-D!
Next week, active weather returns to the Ohio Valley and a big warm-up is lurking for this time next week with a string of 80°+ heat possible just a week from today.
