RedsFest to be first event at newly renovated Duke Energy Convention Center
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - RedsFest is scheduled to be the first event held at the newly renovated Duke Energy Convention Center.
The fan fest is happening Jan. 16 and 17.
The Duke Energy Convention Center has been closed for almost a year as it undergoes a $240 million renovation project.
Since it closed on July 1, 2024, crews have worked to upgrade aging infrastructure, add outdoor space and improve technology in the building.

On the east side, a massive plaza is being built, and the concourse will have large open areas with glass walls similar to what is already on the south side.
Upstairs, they are building out more spacious ballrooms and adding a rooftop terrace with a view of the city.
“We’ve been talking about the convention center district for quite some time. The county, as you know, has made some significant investments,” explained Hamilton County Commission President Denise Driehaus. “In fact, the initial investment to get all this rolling with the Millennium site. But, it’s exciting to see not only the progress of the convention center but also the complimentary hotel, then across the street, because they obviously work hand in hand.”
Hamilton County has contributed about $9.7 million to the project.
