CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Cincinnati Reds fans are doing their part to help the team make the playoffs by packing Great American Ball Park for the season’s final homestand.

It has been a while since Reds fans had something to cheer for this late in the season.

Excluding the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Reds fans have not experienced playoff baseball since 2013.

The Reds currently hold onto the final National League Wild Card spot with six games remaining.

“Oh, they’re fired up,” described Reds Vice President of Communications and Marketing Kristin Meyers. “This is so much fun. It’s exactly what we hoped for on Opening Day every year, and here we are with the most fun, engaged team that’s just ready to win.”

The Reds want fans to pack GABP over the three-game home series against the Pittsburgh Pirates and are offering special deals to get fans to the games.

  • $8 tickets
  • $3 beers
  • $2 hot dogs
  • $ ice cream cups

“The team is all into winning, and our city is right there behind them,” Meyers expressed.

First pitch from GABP is set for 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.
