CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Paycor Stadium will be the site for a highly anticipated high school football game.

The Elder and St. Xavier regional championship is being moved to Paycor Stadium, the Cincinnati Bengals announced Tuesday. FOX19 NOW Sports Director Joe Danneman confirmed the news earlier.

“This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for so many of the young men who take the field Friday night,” said Hamilton County Commission President Denise Driehaus. “Paycor is a publicly owned stadium – it only makes sense that the public should be able to access it for big events like Elder versus St. X. I am grateful for Katie Blackburn and the Bengals organization in partnering to make this happen. This was one of the main points in our recent lease negotiations. Hopefully, it is indicative of many similar events to come.”

Originally, the game was set to be played at Beacon Orthopaedics TriHealth Stadium in Mason, but due to ticket demand, it was moved.

Now there will be 20,000 tickets available, the Bengals said. Tickets go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m.

All tickets previously purchased for the game’s original host site at Mason High School will be valid.

Friday’s game starts at 7 p.m.

Parking will be available for $10 (credit card only) in surrounding lots and garages.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. All five main general admission gates (Gate A, Altafiber Northwest, Gate C, Gate D and Fifth Third Southeast) will be open.
