Tri-State boys, girls HS basketball teams to play in Holiday Hardwood Classic

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Tri-State boys and girls high school basketball teams will face off at the 4th annual Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Holiday Hardwood Classic.

22 teams will play in 11 matchups on Dec. 27 and 28 at Xavier University’s Cintas Center.

Here is the schedule:

Saturday, December 27                                                

Mt. Notre Dame vs. Bellbrook (Girls) – 11:00 AM

Sycamore vs. La Salle- 12:45 PM

Newport vs. Lebanon - 2:30 PM

Princeton vs. Cathedral (Indianapolis) – 4:15 PM

Anderson vs. Mt Healthy – 6:00 PM

Taylor vs. Holy Cross (Covington) -7:45pm

Sunday, December 28

Milford vs. Lakota East (Girls) – 12 Noon

Milford vs. CHCA – 1:45 PM

Princeton vs. Winton Woods (Girls) – 3:30 PM

Wyoming vs. Centerville – 5:15 PM

Mason vs. McNicholas - 7:00 PM

This year, participating schools have the opportunity to win a $500 donation to support their booster club or charitable organization of their choice.

There will be a friendly ticket sales competition and the school that sells the most tickets each day of the event (with a minimum 150 tickets sold) will receive the donation.

In addition, 50% percent of proceeds from a ticket purchased by a Xavier season ticket holder will be donated to the university’s All For One Fund.

The university’s website says the fund provides financial support for Xavier student-athletes and all athletic programs through private donations.

“The showcase not only highlights the best high school basketball talent in our region, but it also brings communities together around a shared love of the game,” said Eric Stiene, CEO of Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and OrthoAlliance.

“It’s an honor to host an event that brings together so many talented student-athletes, families and fans from across the region. It reflects the true spirit of teamwork and community that we value deeply here at Xavier,” said Greg Christopher, Xavier University Director of Athletics.

Daily passes for the Holiday Hardwood Classic are $13 in advance at www.holidayhardwoodclassic.com. Day of event daily passes are $16 at the Cintas Center box office. All fees and parking are included.
