Hunter Greene to miss several months for elbow procedure
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Reds star Hunter Greene will miss the first several months of the season.
FOX19 NOW sports contributor Charlie Goldsmith reports Green has bone chips in his throwing elbow.
The 26-year-old pitcher will undergo a procedure Wednesday to remove the bone chips from his right elbow.
The Reds hope Greene will be back in 14 to 16 weeks, which would put his return sometime in July, Goldsmith reported Tuesday.
Andrew Abbott will be Cincinnati’s Opening Day starter when the Reds take on the Boston Red Sox.
Fans can watch the Opening Day game and 12 others throughout the season live on FOX19 NOW.
