CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Former Bearcats cornerback Matthew McDoom, a rookie free agent, has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, the team announced Saturday.

Renowned as the fastest player on the Bearcats’ roster, McDoom went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft and originally signed with the Baltimore Ravens as a college free agent in May before being waived on August 8.

McDoom, who weighs in at 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, began his college career at Coastal Carolina, where he earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors in 2024 after recording 36 tackles and 10 pass breakups.

He transferred to the Bearcats for his senior season in 2025, starting all 13 games and logging 50 tackles.

McDoom delivered the team’s defensive play of the year in 2025 when he intercepted a pass against Oklahoma State and returned it 100 yards for a touchdown.

The Bengals also announced Saturday that cornerback Ceyair Wright has left the team to “pursue other opportunities.”

Wright will be placed on the Exempt/Left Squad list, meaning he will no longer count against Cincinnati’s active 90-man roster.
