TRENTON, Ohio (WXIX) - A 16-year-old boy is dead after falling from the top of a moving vehicle, according to the Trenton Police Department.
It happened about 10:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Dartmouth Street and Brampton Place.
Trenton police and fire crews responded to reports that a teenager fell while “riding on top of a vehicle,” police said in a news release Saturday.
CareFlight medical helicopter flew the teen to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where he was pronounced dead.
“It is a horrible tragedy,” Trenton Police Chief Patrick Carr told FOX19 NOW Saturday afternoon.
“I feel for the family. It is heart-wrenching.”
The teen’s identity has not been released.
Investigators with the Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (START) responded to the scene to assist with the ongoing police investigation.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors in the incident, police say.
