2-sport high school athlete killed in Warren County crash

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) - A 17-year-old killed in Sunday’s crash was a two-sport athlete at Clinton-Massie High School, Athletic Director Brian Carey confirmed.
Seventeen-year-old Jason Flint played basketball and ran track for the Falcons, Carey explained.
Flint, who Carey said was a “great hardworking kid,” died at the scene of the crash that happened shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday on Settlemyre Road, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Flint and another teen, a 15-year-old, were passengers in a 2008 Mazda MX-5 that was being driven by a 19-year-old woman, troopers explained.
The driver was going around a curve when troopers said the car went off the road.
The Mazda then came back across the road before it went off the other side of the roadway, OSP explained.
The vehicle overturned after it went off the road the second time.
Flint and the other teen were ejected from the vehicle, troopers said. Neither was wearing their seatbelts, according to OSP.
Athletic Director Carey said the crash was a “tragic accident” and the Clinton-Massie community is “heartbroken” by Flint’s death.
The 19-year-old driver and 15-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital. Both are expected to be okay, troopers added.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
