EF1 tornado hit Tri-State during severe weather outbreak, NWS confirms

BROWN COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - An EF1 tornado did hit parts of the Tri-State on Aug. 11, the National Weather Service confirmed.

The tornado started in eastern Brown County and went into Adams County during the late afternoon, the NWS says.

Damage, ranging from downed trees to a roof lifted off a building, was first found along US 62 south of Macon.

The EF1 tornado went southeast and completely collapsed a building on Tibbe Road.

More damage was found along John Woods Road and Greathouse Road, according to the NWS.

Once the tornado entered Adams County, the NWS says damage was found on Tamme Road, Eckmansville Road and Kirkpatrick Road.

The tornado dissipated before reaching Cherry Fork.
