Alexis Cruz

Hi I’m Alexis and I am so happy to be here! I am from Miami, Florida and a graduate of the University of Florida (Go Gators).

My dream was always to be a morning news anchor and I could not be more thrilled to fulfill that dream in the Tri-State. This dream began when I was in elementary school. My mom would make sure to have the morning news on while getting me ready for school, and I genuinely looked forward to seeing our local news anchors each day. I always wanted to be the person people could look to in the morning to keep them informed and start their day in a positive way. I hope to help make that happen for viewers in Cincinnati.

Before coming to Cincinnati, I was an anchor and reporter in West Palm Beach, Florida. I covered my fair share of severe weather, politics, sports, and featured some of the kindest people in South Florida.

Before that I spent time as a morning anchor in New Bern, North Carolina, and a weekend anchor in Gainesville, Florida.

When I am not on air, I’m often exploring the amazing variety of local restaurants, going to Bengals games, or spending time with my dog Zoe. I was a competitive figure skater for 11 years, so don’t be surprised if you see me twirling around on skates!

I have already found a wonderful family in Cincinnati and greatly appreciate the warm welcome the Queen City has given me. I look forward to getting to know more about this community and being an advocate for you. I can’t wait to bring awareness to the good in the Tri-State and bring a little Florida sunshine to your day.
